Welcome to 7th Grade World Geography! 

We are going to hit the ground running in the 2nd quarter with our 3rd unit: Human Geography! This unit could not come at a better time of year as we have so many different cultural events that will be taking place in the next several months. During this unit we will learn about culture, populations, and settlement patterns. We will also be doing a couple of projects having to do with culture, learn about China's former One Child Policy, and do a cultural case study of the Amish (always a fan favorite)? I am anticipating wrapping our unit up sometime the week before our winter break. The essential question that will be guiding our studies this unit is: Which geographic concepts are most useful for understanding the world's people?

Outside Activities:

Looking for something to do outside of class?  Students have a number of activities on Schoology that focus on our social studies vocabulary and work on their map skills. Students also have the Seterra App on their iPads that has a bunch of different interactive map games and activities they can work on too.   You can also watch/read the news with your student and discuss things that are going on in the world.
