What's Happening in the Seventh Grade?
Geography
Welcome to 7th Grade World Geography!
It's hard to believe that we've been in school for a month! In this short amount of time a lot of learning has already occurred and students are settling into the routines of 7th grade.
Our second unit will be focusing on the Earth's physical geography with emphasis on weather, climate, and geology. We will be exploring the relationship between a location's latitude and its climate as well as plate tectonics and all the fun that comes from that (volcanoes, earthquakes and more)!
Essential Question for our Physical Geography unit: Why do we study Earth and its physical systems?
As always, please reach out via email if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting many of you at our parent/teacher conferences on Oct 7 & 9!
Outside Activities:
Looking for something to do outside of class? Students have a number of activities on Schoology that focus on our social studies vocabulary and work on their map skills. Students also have the Seterra App on their iPads that has a bunch of different interactive map games and activities they can work on too. You can also watch/read the news with your student and discuss things that are going on in the world.
